Technology

Cost-effective, robust storage medium CO2

During the feed-in process, hydrogen is converted with CO2 to methanol.

When hydrogen is fed out, the CO2 is recovered in liquid form in a patented process and held in reserve for the next feed-in operation.

Pipe storages into which liquids (methanol, liquid CO2) are fed and discharged either as underground storage tanks or installed in 40-foot containers

High energy efficiency

No compression of hydrogen gas

Liquid storage media minimize energy requirements for feeding into the storage system. Low reaction enthalpies.

Liquid storage medium contains 107 kg H2/m3

Location-independent scalability to storage capacities of several GWh

HyDepot storage systems can be designed up to a capacity of 100 t H2 (equivalent to a lower heating value of  3.3 GWh) without safety requirements according to the SEVESO III directive taking effect.
